Monochromatic Burgundy Florals for the National Geographic Event at Bel-Air, Los Angeles

For this National Geographic gathering at the iconic Hotel Bel-Air, we set out to design an experience that felt cinematic yet intimate—a modern study in a single, soulful hue. Inspired by the brand’s deep connection to the natural world, we approached the florals as both art and atmosphere, building a story in layers of burgundy.

We curated a tonal palette featuring burgundy orchids, locally grown burgundy ranunculus, Japanese orchids, burgundy hellebores, black safari proteas, and burgundy peonies. Designed in sleek black ceramic centerpieces, the arrangements felt sculptural and grounded, allowing the blooms’ depth and texture to take center stage.

The monochromatic approach created a sense of quiet drama—petals shifting from wine to garnet to near-black under the candlelight, echoing the lush gardens and timeless architecture of Bel-Air. The effect was immersive yet understated, inviting guests to slow down, look closer, and experience the evening through a richly colored lens.
